For the beginning of the ski season, Zenith presented the Defy Classic watch model, released in collaboration with the manufacturer of ski equipment Fusalp.
For this capsule collection, the Swiss watch brand Zenith and the manufacturer of winter ski clothing and equipment Fusalp chose the Defy Classic model, which was “dressed” in ceramic. With a fairly modern design, this Defy has a universal size of 41mm. The dynamic case features layered and contrasting lines with a raised round bezel set on a slightly angular barrel-shaped base. The domed sapphire crystal is anti-reflective on both sides and the watch is water resistant to 100m.
The Defy Classic Fusalp also received a new openwork dial that allows you to see the architecture of the movement. Its motif combines the Zenith five-pointed star logo and the snowflake motif integrated into the design. At the edge of the dial, luminescent faceted indexes are mounted on the chapter ring. They float above the dial, giving a sense of depth. The red-white-blue tricolor is another Fusalp association as one of the brand’s permanent design elements. The date window is placed at six o’clock and fits perfectly into the intricate design – the entire skeletonized date wheel is visible behind the dial.
The Defy Classic Fusalp is powered by the Elite 670 SK automatic caliber, long a staple of the Zenith movement range. This modern skeletonized version of the movement has a silicone escapement and lever. With a diameter of 25.60 mm, it runs at 4 Hz and has a 40-hour power reserve. The Elite caliber is also visible through the transparent case back (decorated with the Fusalp logo and either one in 100 or one in 300 signature, depending on the version). It comes with a satin-finished star-shaped oscillating weight that contrasts beautifully with the dark gray movement.
The Zenith Defy Classic Fusalp comes on a matching color rubber strap, perfectly integrated into the case. It has a fabric texture of concentric rectangles. Fastened with a folding buckle. The watch is produced in two limited editions: 100 pieces in white ceramic and 300 pieces in black ceramic.
