Bell & Ross has introduced a new flagship model of the fifth series, the BR-X5 watch.
The new model BR-X5 is a durable, stylish and technically interesting timepiece from the Swiss brand Bell & Ross. The BR-X5 uses the brand’s familiar design code. Round crystal with a square case, four screws, a hint of a dashboard indicator. An integrated bracelet follows the lines of the case. But at the same time, the watch was pretty dressed up.
The BR-X5 relies on a different architecture and is slightly larger than its BR-05 predecessor: 41mm in diameter and 12.80mm in height. Not small, but fits comfortably on the wrist. The main change concerns the design with a waterproof container, a kind of core that protects the mechanism. The square bezel with a round sapphire crystal and a transparent case back is fixed on two steel plates brought together by four screws.
The layering of the watch can be seen in the side of the case, with its hollow architecture and different textures, from polished to matte or satin. The rubber ring under the bezel gives it a more sporty and instrumental look. The watch is currently available in two all-steel versions, on a rubber strap or a steel bracelet. The screw-down crown is well protected by guards and is water resistant to 100 meters.
The new dial complements the bold design of the case. The hands and markers on the BR-X5 are bright, large and filled with Super-LumiNova. There is a power reserve indicator of up to 3 days and a large three-digit date aperture. The dial is available in classic black with a sunburst finish or in trendy ice blue. Both come with a rubber strap.
The main novelty of the BR-X5 is the mechanism. For the first time, a manufactory movement from Kenissi was used (this movement manufacturer is partly owned by Chanel, which also partly owns Bell & Ross). Caliber BR-CAL.323 uses the same base as Tudor, Breitling, Fortis or Norqain. This is a reliable automatic movement with a 3-day power reserve, variable inertia balance, a cross balance bridge and a frequency of 4 Hz. This is a COSC certified chronometer with a 5 year warranty. The finish and design specific to Bell & Ross can be seen through the sapphire case back.
